DVOR/DME air navigation radio aid

La Aurora airport

Since 1998 a DVOR/DME air navigation radio aid is in operation at La Aurora airport, in Guatemala City.  It was manufactured by the French firm Airsys ATM.

This system helps define the airways that airplanes use to flight to or around La Aurora.  This DVOR/DME has a very wide coverage, and its approach procedures include topographic details of the area. 

This was a turnkey project for Dirección de Aeronáutica Civil.  It had a successful transition to the year 2000.
