Guatemala's Interconnected National Electrical System (SNI) is managed by a Ranger Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA), designed and manufactured by ABB Network Management, based in Houston.
The SCADA system, which is installed at Guatesur substation, in San José Villa Nueva, reads telemetry from substations around the nation. Data is shared by remote consoles with Administrador del Mercado Mayorista (AMM), whose office is linked to Guatesur by microwave.
The Ranger software shows dozens of one-line displays which aid INDE engineers to know by a quick glance the status of the SNI and how it is performing. Users are guaranteed to have a constant and reliable service because of Ranger.
